Ex- Director General's Profile
Mr. Abdus Sobhan Sikder joined Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) on
2nd April, 2007 as it's Director General. Mr. Sikder started his career as a
member of Bangladesh Civil Service (administration) Cadre in 1981. Thereafter he
got the experience of serving both the field and secretarial level. In the
field level the important positions held were the Deputy Commissioner, Sylhet and Addl Deputy
Commissioner, Noakhali. He also served as Senior Assistant Secretary and Deputy
Secretary in different Ministries in the Bangladesh secretariat. He has gathered
significant knowledge in the field of General Administration, Land
Administration, Parliamentary Affairs, Agriculture Extension, Overseas employment
and migration by working in these areas.
Mr. Sikder has participated in different training programmes and
attended number of both
national and international seminars, symposiums and
training on different issues on administration, agriculture extension, fiscal
policies and parliamentary affairs for which he visited United States, United Kingdom,
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Canada, Singapore, Thailand, Germany, Brazil, France
and
Switzerland.
